Free browser utility
All toolsAI agent handoff brief generator
Give the next coding session a clear starting point. Turn your own project facts into a structured brief, with reported evidence and untested gaps kept explicit.
This utility generates in your browser without uploading input. No signup or AI provider is needed. Use non-secret project context.
Generated brief
Start with the example or enter your own facts. Use Generate brief when you are ready, then review the result.
Methodology and format
Enter an objective and next action, then add only the context you know. Generate brief formats those fields in a fixed order; it does not use an AI provider, inspect your repository or run commands.
Completed work and test results are labeled as reported evidence. Missing optional information stays explicitly unknown. Test command and result are a pair, so a command alone cannot appear as evidence of a successful run.
The download is a Markdown (.md) document with headings and fenced text blocks. Your supplied text is preserved inside those blocks, including Markdown punctuation. This is a session brief, not an executable agent configuration or a standard SDK handoff payload.
Inputs use the character limits shown beside each field (1,000–4,000 UTF-16 code units). Generation trims surrounding whitespace. Shared drafts accept only the known fields for this tool; malformed or oversized links are rejected. Share URLs are limited to 8,000 characters, so a full draft may need a file export instead.
This utility generates the brief in your browser without uploading your input. It does not automatically save drafts. Copying and downloading happen on request. Copy share link puts the current inputs in the URL fragment; anyone with that link can read them. Use non-secret context only. Other website features have their own data handling described in the privacy policy.
CommonMark: fenced code blocks — The export uses Markdown headings and fenced blocks for literal user text.
AGENTS.md specification — Repository instructions serve a different purpose from this one-session brief; review the repository instructions before acting.
Anthropic: context engineering for agents — Background on selecting useful context for agent work. This utility does not implement a model or context-management system.
Limitations
A formatted brief is not verification. The next person or agent must check the actual files, permissions, command results and current repository state.
No owner, file path, test command or missing answer is inferred. The generator cannot detect stale or misleading information you enter, resolve conflicts, or guarantee that an agent follows the brief.
The example is fictional and its test result is illustrative. Exported text and shared links need review before sending; neither is a secure channel for credentials or confidential project details.
Frequently asked questions
What is an agent handoff brief?
It is a short record for the next coding session: the objective, edit boundaries, completed work, reported test evidence, next action and unresolved gaps. This tool drafts that record from the information you enter.
Does this verify my code or run tests?
No. It formats your input deterministically in the browser. Supplied commands and results are labeled as reported evidence, and missing information stays unknown. Check the repository and run the required tests separately.
What happens to the text I enter?
The utility generates the brief in your browser without uploading input or automatically saving drafts. Copy and download are explicit actions. Copy share link includes your inputs in the URL fragment, readable by anyone with the link; share non-secret context only. See the privacy policy for other website features.
Can I use the brief with different coding agents?
You can copy the plain text or download the Markdown file and supply it as session context where your coding tool accepts it. This is not an SDK transfer, AGENTS.md rules file or a guarantee that any agent will follow the instructions.
